Why does my smartphone charge slower in the wireless charging tray of my MINI than with a charging cable?

If your smartphone supports inductive charging, it will be automatically charged in the wireless charging tray of your MINI. Inductive charging sometimes takes up to 50 percent longer than with cables. This is due to the fact that only 500 to 800 mA is transmitted via wireless charging. With a charging cable via the USB port, you can charge your smartphone with a charging capacity of up to 1,500 mA. The efficiency of inductive charging is lower; up to 20 percent of the energy is lost. Please note: Thick smartphone covers or metallic cases affect charging.
